Zidane D.E. wins the Johnnie Walker Cup 2023

8-year old German gelding Zidane D.E. driven by his owner Chris Grech is the winner of the 2023 Johnnie Walker Cup which was raced at the Malta Equidrome on Sunday 26th November.

This horse that was racing for the 6th time locally had previously won another two races including one of the heats of this prestigious competition. In the semi final he had finished in 3rd place.

Presentation of the Johnnie Walker Cup was done by Mr Alfred Braddick Marketing Manager of M.Demajo Wines & Spirits Ltd in the presence of MRC Chairman Mr Anthony Mifsud and Malta Equidrome’s CEO Dr Matthew Brincat. The trophies were received by owner/driver Chris Grech and his brother Warren.
