The 13th running of the Sette Giugno Cup will once again see an increase in prize money and this will not only reflect on the amount distributed but will now include also the 5th place. Apart from the €6000 in total prize money in the final, trophies will be distributed to the first five finishers with the winner also getting a commemorative horse blanket and his name engraved on the Sette Giugno Cup which was inaugurated in 2011. Personalised starting numbers will also be used by the finalists which will then be kept as a souvenir of their participation.
The final will be raced on the evening of Friday 7th June and a very balanced race is expected based on the last performances of the 12 finalists. Included amongst the 12 are last year’s winner Akela Play who also was 4th in this year’s Tazza l-Kbira and has won several honours, Charming Soldier 3rd last year, winner of the 2022 Tazza l-Kbira and other championships, as well as Velvet Gio and Mac Smily who finished 2nd and 5th in the recent running of the BOV Tazza l-Kbira.
