Bavaria Gold Championship Final

On Sunday 23rd April, the Malta Equidrome hosted the first edition of the Bavaria Gold Championship Final which saw 12 trotters at the start of the 2640m race.

In a thrilling finish the race was won by 9-year old French gelding Eldorado de Ver driven by Noel Baldacchino timed at 1’14″8/km. Owned by the Mifsud family this horse is fairly new on the island but has proven to have great potential registering 3 wins and a 2nd place from his four local starts.

It is thanks to GSD Marketing Ltd through their brand Bavaria that this championship was made possible. GSD are not newcomers to the local horse racing scene as in the past they had sponsored other championships through their other brands. It was a pleasure to see their guests enjoying an afternoon at the races as they hosted them at the Malta Equidrome VIP Terrace.

The presentation of trophies to the winners was done by Ms Jolein de Krijger, Brand Activation Manager Swinkels Family Brewers Export BV, in the presence of Ms Milena Livada, Head of Sales & Marketing GSD Marketing Ltd and Mr Anthony Mifsud, Chairman Malta Racing Club.
