Bavaria Gold Championship Final Draws
The draws of the Bavaria Gold Championship final were done Friday morning at the Malta Equibet situated at the Malta Equidrome Marsa.
This is a fairly new championship inaugurated last year with the backing of GSD Marketing Ltd through one of their leading brands Bavaria.
This year’s edition saw a greater interest than 2023 as 84 horses participated in the seven preliminary races as opposed to the 6 heats held during the first edition. This also meant that with 35 horses qualifying three semi finals and not two were raced the day before Easter.
Everyone is looking forward for the final on Sunday 14th April as the 12 that have made it through, although some of them are quite new to the local harness racing scene, have already shown great potential and in fact three are already promoted to the Premier category.
The final will be raced on the 2640m distance and once again a total of €3200 will be distributed in prize money, trophies to the first four finishers and a commemorative horse blanket to the winner.
Present for these draws where the Head of Sales and Marketing for GSD Mr Mark Farrugia, Malta Equidrome’s CEO Dr Matthew Brincat and Malta Racing Club’s Vice Chairman Mr Anthony Demanuele apart from the owners of the 12 finalist horses.
