Deal des Marceaux Makes Them 3 in a row to take San Frangisk Cup
Imported in 2021 Deal des Marceaux started this year’s edition of the Tazza San Frangisk having not yet registered a victory in Malta but he quickly showed that 2024 would be his year as driven by young Nolan Azzopardi he managed to dominate this Copper category championship by winning all 3 phases in style.
On St. Joseph Day 24-year old Nolan Azzopardi who co owns Deal des Marceaux with George Saliba guided Deal des Marceaux to a very tight victory after having led right from the start. The horse clocked an average of 1’15″1/km which is his best local timing over the 2140m distance. This is also by far the best timing ever registered in this final beating that of last year by 1.2 seconds.
The trophy and shield were presented to the owners by Malta Equidrome’s CEO Matthew Brincat and Malta Racing Club’s Vice Chairman Anthony Demanuele.
