Favourite Flash Picken Wins EquestriMalta Grand Final

Flash Picken a French gelding owned by Messrs George Spiteri and Michael Grech did not delude its punters when he managed to win the EquestriMalta Grand Final for Silver, Bronze and Copper Categories. Starting with a handicap of 20m and driven by Noel Baldacchino he took a half length victory after he had been seen trailing the front runners due to a shaky start. Flash Picken had made his first local start during the Cisk Lager Summer Championship in June going on to win the Bronze category final. Since then he won 7 of his 8 starts including the P & M Farrugia Condition Race for the same category before qualifying for the EquestriMalta Grand Final.

Trophy presentation was done by Mr Josef Grixti on behalf of EquestriMalta in the presence of Malta Racing Club’s Chairman Mr Anthony Mifsud and Malta Equidrome’s CEO Dr Matthew Brincat.
