Global Undecided Wins 1st Edition of Assikura Speed Race

In an afternoon dominated by an overcast sky and imminent rain, the Malta Equidrome hosted the first edition of the Assikura Speed Race with 9 horses taking on each other in groups of 3 in a test of speed over 640m. Although the weather conditions were not ideal the spectacle was still achieved as Global Undecided against all odds managed to clinch the title with a clear margin registering a very good 1’07″7 in the final. A change of equipment by driver Cliferty Calleja just before he ran his qualifying heat made all the difference as this horse had been having difficulties with the autostart in his last starts including a few minutes before in the warm up,

Trophies were presented to owners Josef Cassar and Ryan Dimech by Assikura Insurance General Manager Andrew Grech in the presence of Malta Racing Club’s representative Mario Baldacchino and Malta Equidrome’s CEO Matthew Brincat.
